My Philosophy

I believe it is important to create a community where all learners feel safe, respected and have a sense of belonging. It is important to focus equally on the social, emotional and academic needs of students. I strive to meet children where they're at by differentiating instruction, choosing developmentally appropriate activities and providing a balance between teacher-directed and self-directed learning. I value play, the arts, movement, creativity and laughter as important and meaningful parts of the learning process for children.

More book shares!

This week we had book shares from Jordan, Ali, Olivia, Henry and John.  Everyone chose terrific books to read and did a fantastic job reading their stories.  Way to go everyone!

Today Jordan's family sent in cheese sticks and apples for Friday snack.  A big thank you to Jordan and her family for that delicious snack.

It has been great to get back into the classroom today after spending the past two days in a math class.  We spent math time today playing math games and are looking forward to kicking off our farm unit on Monday.  This will be the last math unit of the school year!

As the end of the school year approaches, we will be winding down with homework routines.  I believe very strongly in the importance of children having time to play and we will hopefully be having some beautiful weather so everyone can get out there and play!
