My Philosophy

I believe it is important to create a community where all learners feel safe, respected and have a sense of belonging. It is important to focus equally on the social, emotional and academic needs of students. I strive to meet children where they're at by differentiating instruction, choosing developmentally appropriate activities and providing a balance between teacher-directed and self-directed learning. I value play, the arts, movement, creativity and laughter as important and meaningful parts of the learning process for children.

Week 2 with Miss Blair!

Hello everyone!

We had another great week here in Firefly 2nd grade. Wednesday we had an exciting field trip to see "Seussical the Musical" at the Flynn. Today, we experienced a companion workshop where the students were able to actually act out some of the musical themselves!

Yesterday we had a fun Hands On Nature, learning about how animals disguise or camouflage themselves in order to survive. A big thank you to Andrea Boehmcke and Jamie O'Brien for coming in and leading us through an outdoor adventure as well!

I want to thank everyone for their hard work this week, making my last solo week so enjoyable. I cherish all the time spent in this classroom, and am looking forward to one last great week after break!

Enjoy your well deserved vacation,

Miss Blair
