My Philosophy

I believe it is important to create a community where all learners feel safe, respected and have a sense of belonging. It is important to focus equally on the social, emotional and academic needs of students. I strive to meet children where they're at by differentiating instruction, choosing developmentally appropriate activities and providing a balance between teacher-directed and self-directed learning. I value play, the arts, movement, creativity and laughter as important and meaningful parts of the learning process for children.

About Me

About Me
Deb KillKelley
I am very excited to begin another two year loop this fall. My last two loops were very rewarding and provided wonderful opportunities for me to build strong relationships with my students and families. Prior to teaching first and second grade, I spent six years teaching Kindergarten at SCS. I have also taught second, third and fourth grade in New York and New Hampshire before having my children. My son, Matt, is a Senior at CVU and my daughter, Elyse, is a Junior at CVU this year. My husband, Brian, is an engineer and works for a renewable energy company. We have two dogs and we love to spend our free time doing fun things outdoors.
