My Philosophy

I believe it is important to create a community where all learners feel safe, respected and have a sense of belonging. It is important to focus equally on the social, emotional and academic needs of students. I strive to meet children where they're at by differentiating instruction, choosing developmentally appropriate activities and providing a balance between teacher-directed and self-directed learning. I value play, the arts, movement, creativity and laughter as important and meaningful parts of the learning process for children.

Pajama Party!

Woo-hoo!  We finished most of our end of year assessments this week and finished reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.  Today we had a Pajama Party/Movie Day to celebrate!
We also had a wonderful Discovery Table presentation on Monday by Ian.  He taught us all about Costa Rica and share pictures of his family's recent trip to Costa Rica.  Great job, Ian!
Next week we will get back to our poetry unit and begin our final unit in Fundations.  We will also be creating toy store problems in math.
Thursday will be the SCS Jogathon.  Please be sure to send your child to school that day dressed appropriately.  Please make sure he/she brings a hat and wears sunscreen and/or brings sunscreen to apply here at school.
Have a great weekend!
