My Philosophy

I believe it is important to create a community where all learners feel safe, respected and have a sense of belonging. It is important to focus equally on the social, emotional and academic needs of students. I strive to meet children where they're at by differentiating instruction, choosing developmentally appropriate activities and providing a balance between teacher-directed and self-directed learning. I value play, the arts, movement, creativity and laughter as important and meaningful parts of the learning process for children.

Scholastic Book Fair

During the week of Monday, February 9th , we will be visiting the Scholastic Book Fair at our school library.  We will visit the book fair on Monday morning to preview the books and create wish lists, and then we will return on Tuesday morning to make our purchases.  Please send money in for purchases on Tuesday morning.  If you would rather visit the book fair with your child to make purchases you can do so after school.  The book fair has evening hours for families.
Friday, Feb. 13th we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day.  A list of student names went home in your child’s Friday folder last week.  Please remember if your child is bringing in cards, there should be one for each child in the class.  We are still looking for volunteers to send in a fruit for the party.
The sign-up for March conferences is now available on our team website.   March conferences will be on Tuesday, March 24th and Wednesday, March 25th.  If neither of those dates work for you, please let me know as soon as possible so I can arrange another time for us to meet.
Have a great weekend,
:)Deb
